The 2015 vintage, generally rated as exceptional for Yarra Valley Chardonnay, saw late spring rains followed by relatively warm and dry conditions through the growing season.
There were some lower yields from this vintage due to poor weather at fruit set which lead to lower yields and heightened quality.
The Storm Ridge Chardonnay is a fresh drink now style showing rich melon white peach flavours with some very well integrated oak and yeast flavours from lees stirring.
This wine has no malolactic fermentation ensuring the original fruit flavours are enhanced, with 30% kept in Stainless Steel tanks and the remainder placed in oak for 8 months.
